Big Block Power with 72' Classic Style. A+ Investment Grade.
There were 27,004 Corvettes produced in 1972.
Of those, 20,496 were coupes.
But, the Bryar Blue is unique, only 1,617 Bryar Blue Corvettes were produced making it the second least produced color for the year.
Interesting Corvette history here: the name "Bryar Blue" was nod to Bryar Motorsports Park in Loudon, New Hampshire, a popular racing venue during the 1960s and ’70s. The track hosted numerous SCCA events, where Corvettes were often scene on the summer weekends competing with other top American muscle cars. "Bryar Blue" was a subtle tribute to the Corvette’s road racing history that GM was desperately trying to remove from their image at the time. The U.S. Government was coming down hard on car manufacturers at this time to lessen the power in the muscle cars and increase gas mileage due to the Iran conflict ensuing at this point in history. But, the Corvette product line didn't listen too well and continued to produce big blocks.
“Bryar” fits the naming trend of the early 70's era—elegant, rare, and slightly mysterious, because not many made the connection until years later about the racing park, making it a perfect color for a shimmering metallic blue that was previously named Targa Blue.
