I own a Corvette dealership and I've already seen the benefit of Trump's tarrifs
(Fox News Op-Ed)
President Donald Trump has launched one of the most courageous and audacious economic policies in American history. Anyone reacting to it at the moment — worrying over market sell-offs, panicking over international reaction — isn’t seeing the big picture.
I’m the owner of Corvette Warehouse, the largest Corvette dealership in the southwest. We’ve been in business for more than 30 years. I witnessed firsthand the near collapse of my business during the tumultuous years of 2021–24.
Crippled by COVID-19, supply chain disruptions, and unfair trade practices the previous administration neglected or even encouraged, my story mirrors the broader struggle of American industry. However, the Trump administration’s 2025 tariff strategy, a “stratified gambit,” triggered a dramatic and unexpected turnaround.
In the game of bridge, a “stratified gambit” is a strategic play where players are grouped at different levels, or “strata,” competing against those in their tier yet still part of a larger tournament. It’s a layered competition that allows different skill levels to coexist, compete and win in their own way based on the player’s strategy.
Today, this is precisely what’s happening with the American economy under the Trump administration’s strategic use of tariffs. It’s a multi-tiered economic gambit aimed at restoring trade balance, boosting national production and providing the forgotten American businesses and workers with a fighting chance.
And that’s all we ask for: For our own government to give us that fighting chance.
Unlike conventional trade policies, Trump’s tariff rollout was meticulously planned and layered, providing American industries vital time to adjust and reshore without facing immediate retaliatory shocks. This strategy signaled a decisive shift away from “America last” policies, prioritizing fair trade and bolstering domestic production.
Against the backdrop of dire media predictions, Corvette Warehouse has experienced a remarkable surge in sales and renewed customer confidence. Consumers, driven by both financial and patriotic motivations, began “buying American again.” The tariffs effectively corrected longstanding trade imbalances, addressing years of outsourcing and currency manipulation that had eroded American industry. We’ve seen our best week in nearly 36 months.
Alongside advocacy for strategic, temporary trade protections, the tariffs serve to rectify market failures and unfair global competition. Coupled with potential interest rate reductions by the Federal Reserve, this strategy aims to stimulate domestic growth and alleviate the national debt. Yes, the Trump administration has “paused” the customized reciprocal tariffs, but the message is already coming through loud and clear.
The shift is palpable in the used-car market, with a notable increase in demand for American-made vehicles and trade-ins of foreign brands. This reflects a growing wave of economic patriotism, where consumers actively prioritize American-made goods. This is exactly what we need to bring jobs back home and rebuild American industry.
Now, America needs further fiscal prudence, including reduced government spending and enhanced efficiency, to maximize the benefits of the tariff strategy. This is not isolationism but a strategic move toward balanced trade that supports American workers and businesses.
What’s coming next is a tangible revival of American industry. We must have strategic thinking and real-world experience in navigating the complex economic challenges ahead. Trump’s “stratified gambit” is unfolding, and it’s the right approach, reshaping the economic landscape and empowering American producers and consumers.
President Trump is giving America the fighting chance we need. He knows — and we know — that given that chance, we will win.

How Trump Strengthened America’s National Security by Firing Some Top Military Brass
President Donald Trump’s decision to remove General Charles Q. Brown Jr. from his position as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) has ignited a debate between the left, right, and pundits regarding the president’s power over military leadership and the broader implications of such a decision. President Trump’s decision shines a spotlight on the constitutional, legal, and historical dimensions that empower the president to make these changes while also considering the potential ramifications of this move on Pentagon governance, military cohesion, and our national security.
As we aim to understand the decision with an open mind, I lay out the positive contributions for the American people as the Trump administration aims to rebuild our broken, low-morale-stricken military and implement rapid changes to improve national security.
The president of the United States, as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, has the authority to govern the staff of all military leadership. This power is promulgated in Article II, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, which states that the president “shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States.” The clause has been the foundational framework for the president’s authority to appoint and remove top military officials who serve at the president’s pleasure.
To understand the legal basis for this decision, it is crucial to examine Title 10, U.S. Code, Section 152. This section provides the statutory framework for appointing and dismissing the joint chiefs of staff chairman and highlights the president’s authority in shaping military leadership. This seventy-year-old law states that the president appoints the chairman that serves at the pleasure of the president, with the advice and consent of the Senate, for a four-year term. However, this term does not guarantee tenure as CJCS for the position. Ultimately, the president retains the power to dismiss the chairman whenever necessary for America’s national interest.
From this perspective, one would reason this radical change the American people requested will allow the rank and file to recover trust in the ranks and give the Trump administration upper-echelon leadership that is emboldened and aligns prominently with the Hegseth military strategy. President Trump’s decision to dismiss General Brown is fully legal. Unlike other high-ranking officials who require cause for dismissal, the CJCS serves at the president’s pleasure, and the president has no requirement to allow a sitting chairman to complete a four-year term. Trump’s move represents a quintessential recasting of military leadership that will prominently shape national defense.
As Americans, we must understand that while the firing of General Brown is unprecedented in recent times, it is not entirely without precedent in previous American history. President Harry Truman’s dismissal of General Douglas MacArthur in 1951 was the most well-known example of a president exercising the power to remove a top military leader. MacArthur, the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in the Pacific, was relieved of his duties due to public disagreements with the president and his petitioning to expand the Korean War and possibly attack China. Truman’s decision sparked a debate that resonates to this day.
The Truman/MacArthur example established the quintessential precedent reinforcing civilian control over the military, a cornerstone of U.S. democratic governance. Presidents have the constitutional authority to ensure that military leaders align with their strategic vision and national security priorities. Though less contentious than MacArthur’s, Brown’s dismissal similarly demonstrates the president’s ability to shape the military’s leadership based on policy objectives. The move also underscores the normative governance model in civilian oversight over the nation’s military leadership.
General Brown, the second Black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is a highly decorated Air Force officer who served in multiple key leadership positions before being appointed CJCS. His tenure focused on three key legs of a strategic tripod: modernizing the military, adapting to new global threats, and advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the armed forces. The latter leg of Brown’s strategy tripod was radical, and was directly supported and advanced by the Biden-Harris administration. The American people made the call to do away with the cancerous DEI programs that spread their tentacles in all branches of the military and demoralized the troops. The Trump administration has answered the call.
Moreover, Brown’s advocacy for DEI policies became a focal point of criticism by members of the Trump administration, notably Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The administration’s emphasis on unraveling previous DEI policies from the military aligned with its broader political agenda. Brown and other top officers had to go.
As the American people delve further into this developing news story, they must remember that the previous administration’s policies led to recruitment in the military falling by 40%, the lowest in our nation’s history. Our soldiers, airmen, marines, and corpsmen revealed the worst ratings on their military service in our nation’s history. The troops’ morale was at its lowest point since the Vietnam War. This unraveling of military effectiveness is a clear example of the pitfalls of misplaced priorities in national defense policy.
President Trump’s decision to replace General Brown with retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan Caine, a career F-16 pilot with extensive special operations experience, indicates a shift in military strategy that the American people demanded in November 2024. While Lt. Gen. Caine does not fulfill the traditional resume for the role of the CJCS, perhaps with experience as vice chairman or a combatant commander, the president has the authority to waive these requirements if necessary for national security.
The consensus is that President Trump has faith in John Dan “Razin” Caine because they worked together to fight against ISIS back in 2018, and they got the job done together. The American people expected radical change when they made him the president-elect in November of 2024, and Trump has delivered with his pick of Hegseth and now Caine. The strength of Trump’s military strategy is based on this current decision-making, and it will serve as a litmus test for future administrations for centuries to come.
The implications for military stability can be profound from this high-profile decision. While the president’s authority to dismiss top military officials is legally sound, the broader consequences of such a move warrant analysis. The removal of Brown, coinciding with the firing of Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti and Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Jim Slife, signals a significant shift in the Pentagon’s leadership and military strategy. This signals a pivotal culmination of strategic shifts emboldened by new leadership.
In conclusion, President Trump’s decision to dismiss General Brown is a legal exercise of his executive authority that benefits the American people in shaping military leadership that strengthens our national security. Removing the current CJCS before completing their term is rare but not unprecedented. The prompt decision reflects the Trump administration’s update to strategic military priorities and aligns with the policy shifts in the Pentagon that were promised to the American people. The benefits to the American people, our warfighters, and our nation will reap rewards for decades. God bless the USA!
Pete Hegseth: The Quintessential Warrior to Lead the Pentagon Towards Global Peace and Strategic Excellence
The recent nomination of Pete Hegseth for secretary of defense offers a transformational opportunity for the United States and the world. At a time when the global stage is fraught with unprecedented challenges, with wars raging in Ukraine and Gaza, mounting threats from Iran, and widespread geopolitical instability, America requires a leader with vision, patriotism, and adroitness, and with a heightened sense of duty to navigate these intricacies.
Hegseth, a decorated soldier, combat veteran, advocate for conservative governance, and charismatic leader, epitomizes the multidimensional qualities necessary to spearhead a paradigm shift toward global peace and security. The reasons for confirming this nomination are compelling.
As the quintessential warrior to lead the nation's military, with an outstanding service record and the ability to restore military strength, Pete will lead from the front the Trump administration policy “America First,” with a vision to end global conflicts and guide the military toward peace through strength and strategic excellence.
Today's global environment is one of asymmetry and uncertainty. Under the current leadership from Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, personally handpicked by the Biden-Harris administration, the United States has spiraled downward to a nation that is no longer respected on the global stage nor capable of leading other countries to peace. The Afghanistan withdrawal became a confounding debacle, epitomizing the attenuation of continuing downward spirals in American strength and resolve.
In the wake of this failure, other crises have spiraled farther out of control, including the unprovoked attack on Israel and devastation in Gaza, the Russian invasion of Ukraine that has left hundreds of thousands of casualities, and Iran’s heightened belligerence. The secretary of defense has a difficult task at hand to restore America's standing as a global leader.
Lack of coherence and vision has marred the current Biden-Harris administration's approach. The Afghanistan withdrawal, which led to the deaths of thirteen American soldiers, exemplified the failure to prioritize mission objectives and safeguard American lives.
Similarly, the administration's handling of the Russia-Ukraine conflict has exposed significant shortcomings in strategic planning and resource allocation, with hundreds of billions in American taxpayer dollars wasted. The Pentagon's strategic focus has been equivocal, undermining confidence at home and abroad.
Yet in this nascent chapter of history, Hegseth's nomination offers a serendipitous opportunity for transformational impact. This appointment signals a chance to recalibrate America's global posture to keep the nation safe from current and potential enemies as the U.S. strengthens the resolve to lead the way to international peace and prosperity.
The U.S. has 1.3 million active-duty soldiers and 800,000 reservists, and Hegseth will lead them. Major Hegseth's credentials corroborate his suitability for this monumental task. A Princeton-educated undergraduate with a master's in public policy from Harvard, he embodies the duality of intellectual rigor and battlefield experience. His military service spans deployments to Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He has earned the coveted Combat Infantry Badge, two Bronze Stars, and two Army Commendation Medals for valor.
Unlike those whose political and military careers remain confined to peacetime or desk jobs, Hegseth voluntarily faced the crucible of modern warfare twice, navigating its complexities with courage and precision. This voluminous experience equips him to address endogenous and exogenous threats confronting the United States.
Beyond the battlefield, Pete has fought tirelessly in advocacy for those who serve. As the executive director of Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America, Hegseth has worked to improve transparency, increase output, and decrease wasteful bureaucratic investment within the VA system. These efforts underscore a commitment to the ethos of servant leadership, an indispensable trait for guiding America’s military toward a more parsimonious and effective model to decrease the massive waste of America’s taxpayer dollars in the name of inefficient bureaucracy.
The "peace through strength" philosophy aligns military power with the inevitability of global stability. A call for stringent measures to bolster recruitment and retention addresses areas that need more attention under Biden-Harris' current policies. Military enlistment is down by 40%, a confounding metric from the current Biden-Harris administration exacerbated by misguided, unfair, illogical experimental programs and inadequate support structures for those who risk their lives and serve as patriots.
The proposed approach to these challenges is triangulated: enhancing service members' quality of life through dismantling these losing experimental programs that decrease morale; streamlining operational strategies to increase resource use efficiency; and reinvigorating the spirit of patriotism that inspires young Americans to serve.
Pete understands the geopolitical dimensions of modern warfare with principled stances against authoritarianism, learned both by being on the battlefield and in U.S. upper-echelon educational classrooms. Vladimir Putin has been unequivocally labeled a war criminal, and Iran has been described as an evil regime.
There is an underlying call from Americans to bring peace to the global conflicts that destroy the lives of millions who suffer from botched U.S. foreign policy decisions, and America needs a warrior to answer that call. As Pete Hegseth enters the realm of fixing the disasters left behind by the current administration, he is showing a clear understanding of the duality of military preparedness and diplomatic endeavors. The vision includes a Pentagon that epitomizes America's role as a beacon of peace while retaining the stringent capabilities required to deter aggression, foster peace agreements, and increase our strength.
The intricacy of the current geopolitical landscape must be examined to grasp the importance of this potential leadership. The Gaza-Israel conflict has left over 50,000 dead, hundreds of thousands of casualties, and 90% of Gaza's infrastructure destroyed. Meanwhile, the United States has funneled $183 billion in taxpayer dollars to Ukraine as it wages war against Russia, with hundreds of thousands left dead on the battlefield with no hope in sight for resolution, draining U.S. domestic resources and raising concerns about the long-term strategy of the Biden-Harris administration.
Most would argue there is no strategy for success or plan for a win, but only a blundering back-and-forth that offers a slap in the face to the Americans who have funded these atrocities. Soon after the election, when Americans overwhelmingly picked Trump's policies over the losing propositions from the current administration, we saw another slap in the face to Americans, as swift funding and arms shipments from the Pentagon went in the direction of Ukraine. The Pentagon’s approval of an additional $1 billion aid package to Ukraine underscores the immediate urgency of re-evaluating failed foreign policy priorities, and action needs to be taken quickly to stop the senseless loss of life.
Finally, Iran’s escalating threats to annihilate both the United States and Israel highlight the need for a secretary of defense capable of navigating asymmetrical threats with clarity and resolve. The duality of conflict and peace must be understood in order to advocate for the United States on the world stage with authenticity and conviction. Pete Hegseth is the warrior who will get this job done!
His advocacy extends beyond the military sphere and leadership in three wartime theaters. Hegseth’s tenure as a Fox News host and New York Times best-selling author of six books demonstrates his ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and connect with diverse audiences. This charismatic presence has articulated new models and opportunities for military innovation as we aim to improve the lives of those currently serving in the military and veterans while emphasizing the importance of enhancing transparency and reducing waste. These attributes are indispensable for a secretary of defense.
Hegseth’s leadership style emphasizes a parsimonious use of resources, a clear articulation of goals, and a commitment to preserving the lives and well-being of American service members. A vision for leading the Pentagon includes addressing the dearth of morale and retention within the military. Moving swiftly to remove experimental programs like DEI initiatives and critical race theory that have undermined unit cohesion and deterred potential recruits will have an immediate impact.
Focusing on the core values of duty, honor, and country can restore the military's reputation as an institution of excellence and integrity. A pragmatic and inspirational approach with Pete’s leadership will ensure that the armed forces remain capable of meeting the demands of modern warfare as we increase our strength and aim to end multiple global conflicts.
In conclusion, Pete Hegseth's nomination as secretary of defense represents a pivotal moment for the United States. Significant accomplishments in military service, advocacy for military members and veterans, and a well-thought-out leadership position make this leader the foremost candidate to guide the Pentagon through these tumultuous times. By embracing a triangulated approach to military strategy, diplomacy, and innovation, a paradigm shift can be spearheaded that prioritizes global peace and security.
This appointment is not merely a choice but an imperative that ensures America remains a beacon of strength and stability in an increasingly volatile world. Strong support for this America First policy is critical. Americans have made the call to appoint a leader to tackle the inevitable challenges that lie ahead, and we demand a leader with the adroitness, vision, and resolve to navigate them. Pete Hegseth is that leader.

Military and Veteran Support for President Donald J. Trump: The Propensity Explained
As two of America’s most prominent and successful figures, Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk embody the quintessential qualities of entrepreneurial spirit and pragmatic vision that have historically driven American innovation. With their tacit knowledge and extensive experience in business, technology, and leadership, this duo could inspire a fortuitous transformation in the United States’ economic policies, defense posture, and worldly perception as a failing nation. By addressing self-destructive spiraling economic failure that has led to a country in decline, counter-force inertia is building, fostering a propensity toward growth and prosperity for all Americans. That force could potentially spread its tentacles around the globe, improving the lives of humanity for the earth’s nine billion inhabitants. Though some critics argue their motivations are ambiguous and self-centered, Trump and Musk stand united and overtly committed to advancing the American Dream, creating opportunities that align with the nation’s core foci on progress, freedom, and prosperity.
Americans have lost hope in restoring economic stability and the rise of the middle class. With a myopia often seen in contemporary leadership, Americans have become complacent with mediocrity, accepting various issues—from economic instability to eroding middle-class values—as inevitable. However, Trump and Musk’s partnership offers a duality of perspectives: the business acumen of Trump, who understands real estate and economic strategy, and Musk’s technological prowess. Together, they bring an agnostic approach to the industry, unbound by conventional limits and unbridled in their pursuit of innovative, endogenous solutions. They are grateful to the nation that has given them the opportunity to succeed, and now they can do their part to bolster the American economy.
The middle class, a salient pillar of American society, has declined due to factors like exogenous pressures from globalized competition, inflation, and failed American policy decisions. Trump and Musk recognize the efficacy of sensible green energy policies and emphasize a balance between fossil fuels and clean technology to restore economic stability. In this sense, Musk’s expertise in sustainable energy serves as the opalescence of this vision—a shining example of how innovative technology can help without subjugating traditional industries.
America’s manufacturing and infrastructure sector, long held as the backbone of the economy, has experienced stagnation due to exogenous competition and a lack of investment. Recognizing this, Trump and Musk aim to revive this sector with a pragmatic, heuristic approach that reduces redundancy and maximizes efficiency. Their proposed Government Efficiency Commission is a hub for cutting-edge technology and opalescent growth for our country’s resources and tax dollars that will help spawn the next wave of American industry and reinvigorate our economy.
With their tacit understanding of business efficiency, Trump and Musk could address the down spiraling inertia and inefficiencies often associated with the federal government. Imagine a government operating with the robustness and productivity of a corporation—every dollar is carefully allocated, and every project is scrutinized to ensure maximum efficacy. Musk’s entrepreneurial and engineering mindset could introduce innovative heuristics for problem-solving in government, identifying new ways to reduce costs while increasing the effectiveness of public services. This approach would create many opportunities for Americans, empowering communities through strategic investments and bolstering the country’s robust standing in a competitive world.
By empowering American education, the next generation of world class leaders born in the USA could become our reality. From bloated budgets to low global rankings, American education has been plagued by systemic challenges that hinder its efficacy. Trump and Musk’s vision for education is both agnostic and pragmatic—focused on creating robust educational pathways that equip students with skills relevant to today’s world. Their support for STEM education, technical skills, and entrepreneurial development starkly contrasts the myopic tendencies in current systems, which often overlook the needs of a rapidly changing workforce.
This renewed focus on heuristic learning methods and tacit knowledge will allow students to apply experiential and practical skills directly. Trump and Musk recognize that today’s youth must learn to thrive in environments of ambiguous challenges, nurturing a mindset of innovation and adaptability. These improvements would support America’s position as a global leader in education, training future generations to be both technically skilled and versatile while addressing the myopia of an education system resistant to change.
Finally, our leaders are discussing protecting America’s national and economic security. In a world where security concerns are ever-present, both physically and digitally, Musk’s technological savvy could bring many new security advancements, particularly in cybersecurity. Having signed the laws that introduced the Space Force, Trump understands space’s salient importance in modern national security. Together, they could create a formidable defense strategy incorporating new technologies to protect the United States from exogenous and endogenous threats.
This approach is critical, as defense spending often prioritizes antiquated technologies over necessary advancements. Musk’s innovative solutions and agnostic approach to solving defense issues could catalyze a paradigm shift, encouraging efficiency in spending and yielding more effective security measures. This shift would bolster our capacity for national defense while also challenging the paradox of modern defense spending—a system where wasteful spending is tolerated while substantive innovations face bureaucratic delays.
Is it possible to break free from endless global conflict? For decades, American resources have been diverted to conflicts that benefit the defense industry but subjugate the middle class. Trump and Musk recognize the paradoxical contradiction that drives America to invest in endless wars abroad while neglecting the struggles of its people. As I recall his statement that “we forgot about the American Dream,” Trump aims to refocus national resources on domestic progress. Through this vision, the duo advocates for a country where economic opportunities, not foreign entanglements, fuel American prosperity.
This recalibration would allow America to focus on critical initiatives like education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. Fortuitous alliances could shift toward pragmatic, domestic-focused policies, ensuring that Americans benefit from the wealth of the nation they have built.
An optimistic vision for America’s future with the Trump-Musk partnership symbolizes the quintessential American resilience and ambition. By challenging the status quo with an unbridled pursuit of efficiency, technological progress, and economic stability, they aim to advance the American Dream for every citizen. This vision is not just about growth for its own sake but about providing Americans with the robust resources and unfiltered opportunities needed to build a prosperous life.
Their combined strengths in business strategy, heuristics, and innovation could elevate the American standard of living, allowing breakthroughs in fields such as medicine, technology, and environmental science. Trump and Musk envision a future where every American, regardless of background, has access to the resources needed to succeed and where government policies serve the people with a salient dedication to efficacy and transparency. Their unyielding drive and shared vision promise a future of growth, stability, and unbridled opportunity for generations to come if we step up and take our nation back versus accepting mediocrity.
The Path to Alleviating Tension: A Call for U.S. Foreign Policy Transformation in the Israel-Gaza Conflict › American Greatness
As we pass the first anniversary of the horrific October 7 attack by Hamas, where roughly 1,200 Israelis were killed, thousands more wounded, and 251 hostages were taken—12 of whom were American citizens—the need for decisive U.S. foreign policy intervention has never been more straightforward or more desperately needed. Astonishingly, despite the taking of these American citizens, nothing was done to secure their release. It’s as though these individuals were forgotten, left to die on the battlefield. Today, 101 hostagesa remain, with no hope in sight of their return to their families. The U.S. government’s inaction in these cases highlights a failure to protect its citizens, which only exacerbates the severity of the situation.
I make this call today because I am the author of the book The Spirit of a True Patriot and have seen firsthand the atrocities of war and the destruction it causes. In conflict, it is not the soldiers with access to intelligence, equipment, and weaponry who suffer the most; instead, it is the women, children, and elderly—those who do not have such protections—who bear the most significant burden. My goal is that the nation of Israel will be allowed to live and prosper in peace, free from terrorist attacks, with the full support of the United States and its allies. I also hope that the Palestinians will be allowed to return to their homes and rebuild with a stable, democratically elected government that acknowledges the state of Israel.
The United States, as a foremost leader on the global stage, must reflect on the theoretical framework of its foreign policy and rescale its strategy to alleviate the suffering propagated by this conflict. This requires acknowledging the duality in our foreign policy approach, where we balance support for Israel’s right to defend itself with efforts to mitigate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. While there has been conjecture about what could have been done, the time has come to minimize future tension and contribute to a transformative impact in the region. We must also recognize that we have elected the leaders propagating these gravely failed foreign policy decisions, many of which have been vigorously botched and caused immense human suffering worldwide. Just four years ago, we had global peace, and the United States was seen as a powerhouse that exuded tranquility, peace, and prosperity for its allies. Today, it feels as though the world is a hotbed of turmoil, with the globe on the verge of World War III.
The asymmetry of power and suffering in this war are starkly apparent. The Israeli government and its citizens grapple with the nefarious behavior of Hamas and other Iranian-backed militant groups. According to news reports, Prime Minister Netanyahu has stated that Israel is now fighting on seven fronts, including Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria. The pernicious nature of this conflict is further exacerbated by Iran’s role, which is substantiated by documented evidence of ballistic missiles launched by Tehran-backed forces, leading to voluminous destruction across the region with no hope in sight.
The United States has imposed bans and sanctions on Iran that include an economic embargo, a prohibition on companies doing business with the nation, a ban on all Iranian-origin imports, and the severe constriction of Iranian financial institutions. However, the damage has already been done, and the money has already been released and divided into the tentacles of these terroristic nations that perpetrate atrocities around the globe against us and our allies. The veracity of these financial channels, which should have been a litmus test for our foreign policy’s robustness, instead became a paradox—allowing resources meant for peace to empower those who propagate terror.
It is intuitive that for any resolution to take hold, the United States must adopt a more dynamic approach, ensuring transparency in its alliances and strategies while recognizing the exogenous factors that shape the conflict. The first step in endeavoring toward peace is to eschew the current tacit approval of Qatar harboring Hamas leaders. These leaders, with a combined net worth of $11 billion, epitomize the corruption that fuels this pernicious cycle of violence. At the same time, they live in comfort, starkly removed from the suffering of the Palestinian people they claim to represent. Qatar, our ally and host to the most extensive U.S. military base in the Middle East, must be pressured to remove these individuals and distance itself from supporting terrorist regimes. This is a significant accomplishment the U.S. can achieve by improving transparency and ensuring consistency in its foreign alliances.
Secondly, the facts surrounding the release of $6 billion to Iran must be addressed. Our leaders must be held accountable. Our nation elected these politicians to seek our interests, yet our resources were squandered and used against us. Though this money was theoretically intended for humanitarian purposes, it is necessary to recognize the documented findings that suggest these funds were misused to fund further terrorist actions. A firm reimposing sanctions on Iran, limiting their financial contributions to Hamas, and cutting off their pernicious influence will be a pivotal move in U.S. foreign policy. This is not merely a punitive measure but one aimed at constricting Iran’s ability to propagate violence across the region.
However, mitigating the situation will also require addressing the human suffering within Gaza. Rescaling humanitarian aid, which should be overtly coordinated with regional Middle Eastern nations, is vital. While the U.S. does not need to bear the financial burden alone, it can spearhead efforts to ensure that nations advocating for Palestinians contribute to restoring stability. The succession of violence and ostracism that plague the region can only be disrupted through collective, balanced efforts from the international community. Aid must be distributed in a manner that eschews Hamas leadership and instead supports the civilian population.
Ultimately, the U.S. must also support the formation of a Palestinian government grounded in democratic principles—one that recognizes Israel’s right to exist. This recognition is quintessential for any lasting peace. The inertia of leadership that refuses to engage in peace talks and instead believes violence is an untenable path forward must be addressed. We argue that peace can only be achieved through transformative dialogue, whereby both parties accept each other’s right to exist. But when we talk about negotiations, we must ask ourselves: Why are we even considering negotiating with terrorists? These leaders have taken hostages and are holding innocent lives to achieve their insane demands.
U.S. foreign policy’s theoretical framework must shift from reactive measures to proactive, strength-based diplomacy. When the United States operates from a position of strength, it not only enhances its global standing but also sends a clear message: injustice, terroristic regimes, and human suffering will not be tolerated. This approach is quintessential to America’s role as a global proponent of peace.
In conclusion, the U.S. has the capacity and responsibility to take significant action. By pressing Qatar to sever ties with Hamas leaders, cutting off Iran’s financial streams, facilitating humanitarian aid, and supporting the establishment of a democratic Palestinian government, the U.S. can starkly improve the chances of peace. Our contributions today will have a transformative impact, alleviating suffering and paving the way for a more peaceful future in the Middle East. Israel deserves to live in peace, recognized as a sovereign nation, without the perpetual threat of terroristic violence.
As a nation, we must support that peace, and we must hold our elected leaders accountable for ensuring that these opportunities are not botched through inaction or poor decision-making. It is no longer just about what has happened but about what we can do now to ensure a peaceful and stable future. A call has been made, so what are we as Americans going to do to hold our leaders accountable and answer that call by electing a government that will support our interests around the world and keep our nation safe, strong, and secure while simultaneously ending this conflict in Gaza that puts us at the edge of World War III?
