Meet Ted of Corvette Warehouse
Meet Ted, one of our Sales Professionals here at Corvette Warehouse!
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Ted grew up in Garland graduating from Lakeview Centennial High School. This was shortly before the infamous and debilitating Covid-19 Pandemic that rocked our world. As a budding young man, facing this big, new and unchartered world, naturally, he had to find a way to make money! One of Ted's close friends happened to have a job in car sales and encouraged him to jump into the busineess. So, that is what he did, joining the great team at Town East Ford. This wasn't just a come-up, it was a stepping stone into a pool of life knowledge that carries with him to this day. It was there he met a man named Brandon (Yes, Corvette Warehouse's Finance Manager) who became a crucial mentor for Ted, teaching him good habits and how to do the business the right way.
Though Ted originally planned to attend college, which was his father’s preference, he opted for the dealership lifestyle. He quickly realized he loved helping people, being around exciting cars, and building relationships face to face. At one point, Ted even tried selling educational software but found his passion truly belonged in car sales. Nothing beats being able to walking out to show someone a car and, a little while later, watching them light up as they drive off in their new purchase!
Ted’s style is all about matching people with the car that’s right for them, not pushing a sale.
In his words: “People know what they want. If it makes sense for them, they will buy. If they don’t want a certain car, someone else will. My job is to match people to what they’re looking for.” He credits Brandon for teaching him the L² B² principle: “If they Like you, they’ll Listen to you. If they Listen to you, they’ll Believe you. If they Believe you, they’ll Buy from you.” It was this framework has been the foundation of Ted’s success as a car salesman, and has allowed him to help people obtain their new favorite car.
A fun fact about Ted is that he is an excellent driver who has neever been pulled over in his life! He's also a bit of a car enthuusiast...He has handled countless exotic cars having driven outlandish speeds all while maintaining an expert driving record. We call that a lucky guy! His love for cars holds a special place in JDM legends like the Honda NSX, Skyline GTR, and Mazda RX-7. Even so, he stresses that Corvettes are his favorite American legend and has always imagined owning one.
Outside of work, Ted enjoys spending time with friends and family. For him, it doesn’t need to be a big event and feels enjoying the good company of family is enough for him. He also loves being out at the lake, or when he can, near the ocean. These days, Ted especially values spending time with his dad. After living on his own for five years, he has grown to appreciate their bond and even contemplates enrolling in college while selling cars, a choice that he says would surely make his dad the happiest father in the world.
We tracked down Ted to ask him what was his all-tim favorite Corvette, and to our surprise, it's one that has yet to be unleashed into the world, The Corvette Zora. Though it is basically a concept at this point, he loves the fact that thee engineers slapped twin turbos on a 5.5L flat-plane crank V8. He get’s passionate about this and will explain to you how these are what gives Lamborghinis and Ferraris thier ferocious sound! One day he hopes to sit in a Zora and say that he sold one to a very happy customer.
